Flights Specialist - Travel

With the desire for problem-solving and investigating any issues, you will be a Flights Specialist with a passion for exceptional customer service and travel, ensuring that all ticketed bookings across the business are captured and reflected correctly.

Flights Specialist Responsibilities:
o Managing and addressing booking requests received through email, phone, and the help centre, adhering to the company’s service level standards.
o Utilising a GDS to verify availability and handle various aspects of bookings, including, creation, management, ticketing, and refunds.
o Formulating nett fares based on CAT35.
o Employing industry expertise and initiative to identify optimal airline that align with client requirements.
o Making informed commercial decisions regarding margins and pricing for each booking.
o Accurately updating all transactions in the database.
o Staying informed about airline deadlines for deposits, balance payments, names, and ticketing.
o Ensuring timely receipts of all payments from clients to meet deadlines.
o Cultivating strong relationships with airline partners’ staff.
o Developing a comprehensive understanding of the market and competition.
o Keeping track of and striving to achieve sales targets.

Flight Specialist Skills & Qualifications:
o Previous involvement in the travel sector, preferably with familiarity in the UK travel market.
o Outstanding customer service abilities for providing efficient and professional support to both internal and external clients.
o Strong written and verbal communication skills, coupled with proficiency in time management, accuracy, and organisation.
o Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications.
o Self-motivated team player capable of working independently and making informed decisions.
o Knowledge of the travel industry, including familiarity with GDS or airline operations, is advantageous, though training will be provided.
