Financial Controller

Located in the City of London, with hybrid working and great benefits. This is a fantastic development opportunity for a qualified/ part qualified experienced travel accountant who is looking to gain broad exposure to accounting and financial management of a small to medium-sized business.

Financial Controller Main duties & responsibilities:

Ownership of daily accounting function top to bottom.

Ownership of the month/year-end processes, reconciliations, monthly reporting, BSP and VAT returns.

Liaise with payroll and ensure pension payments are processed monthly.

Efficiently and promptly create monthly, annual and ad hoc reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts and be able to present financial information in different ways allowing for effective analysis, be it for the board, CAA (civil aviation authority) or any other third party where this may be required.

Compliance with all group financial regulatory matters e.g. HMRC, ABTA CAA, ATOL etc.
Management and control of the Fixed Asset Register, reconciliation of Balance Sheet, working capital management.

Preparing company cashflows.

Regular dealings with business operations.

Preparation of annual budgets + 6 monthly reforecast for review and approval of executive team (MD and CEO).

Client invoicing, and debtors’ management.

Ownership of purchases, payments process. Including process supplier invoices,
ensuring authorisation rules are met and challenging all invalid documents.

Monitoring and management of daily bank activity.

Process expense payments to employees.

Process all petty cash payments.

Prepare multi-currency bank reconciliations, petty cash and credit cards.

Process payments through internet banking.

Preparation of audit pack.

Liaise with auditors and provide information and analysis as required.

Supporting Group FC as and when needed.

Managing the commission collection process.

The nature of the role and the size of the team and the culture of the business is such that there will be opportunities for exposure to different roles and development opportunities for a fast-learning and adaptable candidate.

Ideal Skill Set Required:

Work experience in accounting, finance, or math-based roles
Previous exposure to accounting role in the travel industry advantageous
Qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA with post qualification experience advantageous.
Compliance with all group financial regulatory matters e.g. HMRC, CAA, ABTA, ATOL etc.
Immediate Teams interviews are being held. Our client is ideally looking for someone to join them by October.
