Commercial Financial Analyst

We are seeking a skilled Commercial & Financial Analyst to join our clients’ newly established Product & Commercial Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact in a dynamic travel company that specialises in group tours around the globe.


Role Overview:


As a Commercial & Financial Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in providing financial and commercial insights to support strategic business decisions. Your expertise will help optimise product planning, tour utilisation, and pricing strategies. You will drive the development and implementation of best-in-class reporting and data analytics to improve overall decision-making.


Key Responsibilities:


Enhance decision-making by designing and developing commercial reporting, with a focus on maximising the use of Power BI.
Collaborate with senior leadership to expand project initiatives, providing insights and relevant reporting to guide stakeholder decisions.
Produce weekly reports on tour utilisation, recommending strategies to optimise performance.
Develop reporting frameworks for pricing strategies to boost tour profitability.
Set regular targets and prepare quarterly forecasts on tour utilization and profitability metrics.
Ensure all commercial reports are actionable and tailored to support business objectives.
Analyse data to aid annual product cycles and assist in contract negotiations.
Identify and report on variances in tour margins to the product and finance teams.
Establish and monitor commercial KPIs.
Lead the creation of dashboards and tactical reports for commercial insights.
Work closely with the Product & Commercial Department to enhance commercial awareness across the business.
Assist in the production of annual budgets and forecasts, partnering with senior leadership.
Drive continuous development of the Power BI platform for business growth.


Key Skills and Experience:


At least 3 years of experience in a commercial role within the travel industry, preferably with touring-based products.
Expert-level proficiency in Power BI.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other Microsoft Office products.
Strong analytical abilities with a talent for interpreting and presenting data clearly.
Excellent communication skills and a proactive problem-solving approach.
